Little finds in dusty corners
Adam has been obsessed with getting a stereo, but the only description he would give me was "ugly." He's made me look at every stereo system at every store we go to for years, literally years people, only to reject every single one. Finally, I was able to get a better idea of what he wanted and suggested we hit up pawn shops and thrift stores.
So, this weekend we visited a couple of local places and found some ratty, beat down, basically useless seventies-styled stereo with a turn table (that doesn't work), an 8 track player (that probably doesn't work) and an am/fm tuner and speakers. He's proudly displaying the dusty old thing in our downstairs living room.
It makes him happy, though, so I've let it go. Occasionally a little happiness is worth an eyesore.
While we were poking around I was able to find some things that I didn't really need, but made me feel a bit better. Really cheap retail therapy. There's nothing wrong with that.
