Back to Normal
Adam had been on vacation for a week, which is a total disaster for me. I can't stand to have my husband under foot. For weeks leading up to the time off, Adam talked about all the things he was going to do around the house, begging me for a list of repairs and "Honey Do's," so I accommodated him. Unfortunately he ended up spending the majority of the time on his bottom in front of Minecraft. Which made me want to claw my face off.
One of my many, many, flaws is my inability to be idle; Adam's talent for inactivity makes me insane. I had to clean and parent around his lumpy, farty form. So. Annoying. Marriage, right?
The whole time he was home there was noise and chaos. He kept the TV on all day, which had an adverse effect on my toddler. (We don't watch TV during the day when he's not here.) Nora ended up whiny and acting out for attention.
Happily, he went back to work this morning. Nora and I have had a great morning, quiet and productive, and I have high hopes for the afternoon. It's when things are like this that I'm most grateful for my life. I adore when I'm able to enjoy my child, and have her enjoy me, especially when my husband is nowhere to be found. Ha.
