Happy birthday, Adam!
I MADE Adam celebrate his birthday. He was resistant right up until time to serve the cake. I made and decorated the carrot cake myself. Adam requests a carrot cake every year, without fail, and I wanted to make sure that I followed through this year. I didn't want Adam to think of this birthday in all negative ways. He was supposed to let Mazzy share his cake. They were going to have a special January B-day's Only party. There were plans.
Instead I sang off-key (is there any other way?) and he sliced big chunks for the both of us. We ate in silence and then I folded laundry. At least he gets to watch Naruto tonight......
