Washed Away

I've been feeling cagey lately. We spend too much time in the house. Now that the weather is milder, still warm but not sweltering, I've been trying to let Nora play and explore our boring yard. She likes to stomp through the garden, pulling out fledgling plants, leaving their little drying bodies on the grass. A warning. (Yes I sort of see my child like a mythical warrior. What? You don't?)

Yesterday we walked up to the store so that I could pick up a few things that we were out of for lunch and dinner. It's not a very long walk, but going up to the Family Dollar to peruse seems creepy. I like to have reason and we never stay long. Which, really, is so weird since I'm eager to be out of the house lately. Go figure.

After lunch Nora and I went in the backyard to play in the garden. I got the hose out to spray the plants. Nora loves running water. What kid doesn't, really? She's constantly wanting to play in water, wash her hands, find puddles, knock over the pet food bowls..... Today just felt like a good day to give in to her whims and I set up the sprinkler and let her stand over the weak stream. I took some pictures and made a video for her Grandparents.

I have  no idea how I'm going to top it. Maybe I should hit up Pinterest and see if I can find that "Make your own poster paint" pin and let her go crazy this weekend.
